IRS Reject 181-01 Series Rejects for Invalid IP PIN

We have seen a huge uptick in IRS reject code 181-01 during the past 2 days of HUB testing.
We have discovered that taxpayers who logged in to the IP Portal during the last couple of weeks may have been provided an outdated IP PIN (from 2024).

Warning
The IRS has subsequently taken the IPPIN portal offline and doesn't anticipate opening it back up until after January 26th.

When the portal reopens, taxpayers will be able to log in and retrieve the correct PIN, allowing the preparer to fix and resend the return.
